Development Assistant, Corporate

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist with corporate fundraising. This is an exciting full-time opportunity for someone with an interest in working in the clean energy field and exploring a career in development.  

The development assistant, corporate is responsible for assisting and supporting fundraising operations for corporate giving, including member engagement and metric tracking. They work closely with ACEEE’s development team and across the organization, and occasionally interface with corporate partners. They report to the corporate relations manager.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supports varying modes of corporate giving, including the Ally corporate membership program and conference sponsorships. Provides communications support for our corporate partners, including using email marketing tools (Pardot) for large-group emails to Allies, supporting webinars, in-person meetings, and key Ally engagement events
  • Helps build and support the pipeline of corporate prospects—including researching organizations (and key contacts) to shape the value proposition for joining the Ally program—to help the corporate program meet revenue targets
  • Uses Salesforce to track corporate prospects and donors and is cross trained to support other development team functions
  • Assists in scheduling meetings with prospective Allies, existing Allies, conference sponsors, and internal stakeholders to ensure all deliverables are being met

Required Competencies:

  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills as needed for meeting deadlines
  • Ability to learn ACEEE’s business processes and to apply that knowledge to both fundraising, Salesforce-related opportunities, and marketing tools such as Pardot 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail 
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people using a high level of emotional intelligence
  • Experience with Microsoft Office

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent (high school diploma with six years of experience)
  • Experience with customer service, corporate giving/sponsorships, or other sales/fundraising preferred

Preferred Start Date: On or about May 1, 2024. This position has a possibility to be fully remote, but preference is for Washington, D.C.-based candidates, and two days in the office.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary range is $47,388 – $59,235 and includes ACEEE’s generous benefits package, which includes health, dental and vision, disability, and life insurance coverage; a 403(b) retirement plan; transportation and bike share benefits, three weeks of vacation in the first year and four weeks thereafter.
