Energy efficiency can slash US energy use and greenhouse gas emissions by about 50% by 2050, getting us halfway to our national climate goals. In order to achieve these savings, we need to scale up efficiency in several key areas. This fact sheet provides an overview of 11 opportunities and related policies that would drastically increase efficiency and cut carbon emissions, and identifies the sectors where efficiency can have the strongest impact in order to achieve a 50% savings through 2050.
